What Is Fluoride Gel and How Is It Applied?
08 Nisan 2025

Fluoride gel is applied to the tooth enamel, making it more resistant and stronger. The most commonly used forms are Acidulated Phosphate Fluoride (APF) and Sodium Fluoride. These gels come in different flavors such as strawberry, orange, and mint, making them more comfortable for children.

The gel is placed in special trays and kept in the mouth for 4 minutes. After the application, the child should avoid eating, drinking, or rinsing their mouth for 30 minutes. Fluoride gel application can be performed 3-4 times a year for children aged 4 and above, depending on their cavity risk.
