In cases where the bone height needs to be increased slightly, closed lifting procedure is applied. Routine dental anesthesia is applied for the surgical procedure and then the gum in the area to be treated is opened. The space where the dental implant will be placed is prepared to leave 1-2 mm of bone between the sinus floor.
After this preparation, closed sinus lift elevators are placed in this prepared slot and the remaining 1-2mm wall is slowly lifted into the sinus. Depending on the amount of bone to be created in the sinus floor, in some cases it may be necessary to use bone graft (bone powder) before the dental implant is placed.
After this stage, the dental implant is placed in this socket and the healing process begins. Immediately after the procedure, antibiotics, painkillers, mouthwash and decongestants (to keep the sinuses clean and dry) are prescribed.
The healing process is completed after an average of 4-6 months and the prosthetic part of the implant is made.
