After a sinus lifting procedure (whether open or closed), you will be asked to use the prescribed medications regularly.
Sinus lifting involves two separate surgical areas: the mouth and the sinus. After the procedure, there may be bleeding in the mouth area, as well as possible bleeding in the sinus, which may appear as a nasal discharge. This is quite normal after a sinus lifting procedure. The important thing is to wipe the bleeding gently with a clean tissue and never blow your nose. Blowing your nose or sneezing while closing the nostrils can increase the pressure in the sinus, which may worsen the bleeding and cause the bone grafts placed in the area to shift. Other than that, the healing process is quite similar to routine dental implant surgery.
